Mountain Biking on the Golden Island of Porquerolles
This breathtaking and car-free island, set just off the coast of Hyères-les-Palmiers, can ideally be visited by mountain bike. The island is home to beautiful scenery, from the palm-swept harbor to golden beaches, untamed cliffs and creeks and secret valleys fringed with vineyards. White Water Rafting in the Verdon Canyon Set to the extreme North of the Var region, the Verdon Canyon constitutes Europe's largest canyon, second only in the world to the Grand Canyon in Colorado.

Over the centuries the Verdon River, a tributary of the Durance River, has scored a magnificent 21 km gorge in the limestone plateau, where emerald green waters bubble and hiss through sheer cliffs, towering 250 to 750 meters above.
Gliding in Fayence
Fayence-Tourrettes airfield has now become Europe's most highly-reputed gliding center. A really original way to admire the area's wonderful landscapes.
Water Sports The Var offers a huge variety of water sports for all levels, such as diving, windsurfing, waterskiing and underwater fishing. You can of course also hire a yacht or motor boat for a relaxing day-cruise, when you may like to visit the beautiful Golden Islands just off Hyères, including Porquerolles and the Port-Cros nature reserve with its stunning flora and fauna.
